2. Increased Hunger Or Weight Loss

If your dog starts acting as if he is starving even if you have offered him the usual amount of food, then he could be developing polyphagia. However even with the increased food intake, he will start losing or even maintaining his weight.

Too much eating which cannot be explained can be an early sign of diabetes in your dog. Diabetes can cause an increase in metabolism which will result in weight loss even if your dog increases food consumption.
